Getting a Donation Receipt is Easy When you Contribute to NKS – Our Local Charity Serves Charlotte, NC & the Surrounding Areas

A donation receipt for your tax-deductible* contributions to National Kidney Services (NKS) is available from your donation pickup driver and at any of our donation drop-off locations. We make it easy for you to inventory your donated items for tax* purposes, and we also want to make the rest of the donation process as stress-free as possible. That’s why we not only offer free donation pickup service throughout Charlotte, but also provide a variety of conveniently located drop-off locations, like Value Village thrift department stores.

A donation receipt allows you to keep a record of the estimated value of the items you donate to our charity. You can estimate the value of your donations by taking into consideration how much you originally paid for the item, how old the item is, and what kind of condition it is in at the time you donate it. You can use the NKS online valuation guide, or refer to the IRS guidelines for non-monetary donations.

To add your name and phone number to our call list for standard weekday donation pickups in Charlotte, Mint Hill, Matthews, or any of the surrounding areas, simply call 866-408-6464 or sign up online. Our drivers collect donations Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to dark. We also offer expedited pickups if your donations need to be picked up in one week or less, and special Saturday pickups for large donation loads, such as the items that remain unsold after yard sales, community sales, and estate sales.
